sources

These are the sources that show a single cable TV box consume energy more than a refrigerator

  1. "The average new cable high-definition digital video recorder (HD-DVR) consumes more than half the energy of an average new refrigerator and more than an average new flat-panel television."

This quote, from your second source, does not support your claim that a single set top box consumes more energy than a refrigerator.

  2. The chart in both sources, that shows consumption being more than a refrigerator, states that a total of two set top boxes is what is consuming more energy than a refrigerator.

The chart also shows that newer model set top boxes have greatly improved and average 171 watts, compared to the average of 415 watts for a refrigerator
